Modelling the Hydrological Effects of Woodland Planting on Infiltration and Peak Discharge Using HEC-HMS

چکیده
Woodland planting is gaining momentum as a potential method of natural flood management (NFM), due to its ability break up soil and increase infiltration water storage. In this study, 2.2 km2 area in Warwickshire, England, planted with woodland every year from 2006 2012, was sampled using Mini Disk infiltrometer (MDI). Infiltration measurements were taken 10 200 cm away the trees, November 2019 August 2021. Two individual hydrological models built US Hydraulic Engineering Center Hydrological Modelling System (HEC-HMS), model effects change on peak flows site throughout summer winter. The calibrated validated empirical data; Nash Sutcliffe Efficiency (NSE) used an indicator accuracy. Results study show that reduced flow intensity compared impermeable land cover by average 6%, 2%, 1% for 6-h, 24-h, 96-h winter storms, respectively, 48%, 18%, 3% respectively. However, grassland simulations greatest reduction flows, being 32%, 21%, 10%, lower than 6-, 24-, 3%, 0.5%

The last few years have witnessed an enormous study in the area of integrated hydrological modeling with GIS application. In this research, attempt was made to critically look at the application of HEC-GeoHMS which is an extension of ArcView in HEC-HMS; an HEC package which is a new generation of software being developed for rainfall-runoff simulation. The main role of HEC-GeoHMS is to formulat...

Abstract Change in land use pattern influenced hydrological processes in basin and disrupt the normal balance of water flow. In the present research, hydrological parameters change of Babul Rod watershed basin has been that investigated concluded of land use changes in 1988 and 2009. To determine land use changes of Babul Rod watershed basin we has recruited TM satellite images 1988(1367) year ...
متن کاملHydrologic Modeling System (hec-hms):
Many cities have been built along large rivers. The rivers can provide a source of drinking water, act as receiving water for treated effluent, provide navigation for shipping, and other beneficial uses. However, the city must also be protected from flooding due to the close proximity to the river. Hydrologic analysis plays a crucial role in the development of plans for protecting a river city....
